Blogging

Let’s face it. We all love comments. No matter how excellent (or bad) our blog posts are, a single comment can really make our day. At times, we might not want comments in certain sensitive or highly personal posts and we can enable comments filter, but more often than not, a large majority of bloggers love receiving comments at the end of their posts.

The first and simplest way to getting more responses is to invite comments. To some extent, it WILL trigger an increase in comments. All you need to do is leave a sincere note at the end of your post asking for comments. Your second option is to ask specific questions related to your post. If you wrote something about hairstyles, you can ask your readers what are their favorite hair dos at the moment. This will result in a barrage of comments from readers who are eager to share their thoughts with you and the rest of your audience.

Also, you can try being open-ended whenever you post in your blog. If you covered everything there is to say, your readers will have no room to debate about the issue. Feel free to artfully end your post with a contemplative question and perhaps you’ll see more comments from readers who might want to add on to your statements or share their own experience. And sometimes if you wrote controversial topics, you might see a sharp jump in comments posted. Of course, controversy comes with consequences so be careful about how extreme your blog posts are. Finally, the best way to garner more comments is to reward them. Regular commenters will be delighted and this in turn will attract new readers based on their recommendations.
